New takes on old tales.
There's a subgenre of fiction where the authors have taken traditional fairy tales, folklore, myths, and classical literature and reworked them for the modern age and new audiences.
These stories aren't aimed at children and may not interest older adults but they're stories about coming of age, people finding their own way in the world and having to deal with unexpected and overwhelming odds so can appeal to readers facing these issues in their own lives.
